Privacy Policy — BAS Accounting Soft
Last updated: 8 October 2026
BAS Accounting Soft ("the software", "we") is accounting software for businesses, made by Business Accounting Soft, Pakistan (businessaccountingsoft.com). This policy explains what information the software uses, why, and your choices.
1. Your business data stays on your computer
Your accounting records — parties, items, invoices, payments, stock, staff, reports and settings — are stored in a database file on your own computer. We do not see or read this data.
2. Information we receive
When you create an account and activate the software we receive:
- Account: your email address (used to sign in, to recover your password and to send important notices).
- Business details you enter: business name, owner name, phone number, city, type of business and tax number (NTN), if given.
- Installation details: the computer's name, an Installation ID (a one-way code made from the computer's ID, not the ID itself), the software version, and when the software was first and last used.
We use this to activate and support your copy, to tell you about updates, to manage licences and to understand how many businesses use each version.
3. Optional services you choose
- Cloud backup: if you use it, a backup copy of your database is uploaded to our cloud storage (Supabase), linked to your account, and only you can access it. We keep your latest backups; you can delete them.
- Google Drive backup: if you connect Google Drive, the software asks Google only for permission to create and manage its own backup files in your Drive (the
drive.filepermission) and for your email address to show which account is connected. It cannot see any other files in your Drive. The connection is stored only on your computer; you can disconnect at any time in Backup & Restore, or remove access in your Google Account. - Feedback and error reports: messages you send with Send feedback, and automatic error reports (the error and the software's last steps, without passwords, PINs or amounts), are sent to us so we can fix problems. You can switch automatic error reports off in Help → Problem log.
4. What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent your information.
- We do not use your business data for advertising.
- We do not share your information with others, except the service providers that run our cloud (Supabase) and Google when you connect Google Drive, or when the law requires it.
5. Security
Information sent between the software and our cloud travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Passwords and PINs are stored only in protected form. Keep your computer, your account password and your Owner PIN safe.
6. Keeping and deleting information
We keep account and installation information while your account is in use. To delete your account and its cloud backups, email support@businessaccountingsoft.com from your account email. Data on your own computer is under your control and can be deleted by you.
7. Children
The software is for businesses and is not meant for children under 13.
8. Changes
We may update this policy; the date at the top shows the latest version.
9. This website
